I always found it amusing that in pokemon, none of the water starters were ever fish. I mean true, fish don't function too well on land, but if I can give mine rudimentary legs, then...
Anyway, this is the second lot of water starers for my BESM game. Very blue tang inspired colour scheme. These things were a pain to name.

These are pretty solid looking, good and different stages. The Aquestor is pretty badass!

I like both Gwuppy and Aquaestor! Its sometimes hard to find cool final evo for monsters.

It wasn't that hard to think out. If a mudskipper can walk (after a fashion) why not take it that one step further and have true fin feet. I mean that's what happened in evolution terms when fish made the transition to amphibians.

I'm quite fond of Aquaestor. I wanted to have more 3rd stages that weren't just hulking lumps of brutality, which has been the case mostly so far. I wanted something that could be considered beautiful as well as dangerous.

I like ones that are cool. Charizard (except I hate its dual type), Empoleon, and Infernape are the only ones I say really fall under that in Pokemon. Empoleon is my fave, but Infernape falls a close 2nd. Mainly cause Piplup is WAY cuter than Chimchar. XD First evo shouldn't effect final evo, but for me it does. I always pick the starter I find cutest. Ever since my first Pokemon, a Squirtle.

Oddly enough... the three starters that match rival/partner starters in Pokemon are the ones I picked. Squirtle (didn't learn about Gary for a long time though), Torchic, and Piplup. I guess Nintendo agrees that they are the cutest. XD Quilava was my pick for Gold (the first one in 2nd gen I played), although these days I find Chikorita cuter. I'm actually not really fond of any of the GSC starters, especially the evolutions. Typhlosion is indeed the coolest of the evo as far as I'm concerned, although a bit plain.

Anyhow, you managed it! I could see a really cool battle between an Aquaestor and whatever else, even on land. A good wind could make the fins blow so prettily, and I bet its gorgeous when it runs. X3
