Hang my head in shame.

Thu Nov 5, 2009, 11:54 AM
I finally saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I am hard pressed to find a worse movie. It was disappointing on oh so many levels. Badly scripted, badly acted, badly executed, and above all badly directed.
Why was so much screen time devoted to such annoying characters?
Why add all these extra characters if you are not going to do anything with them?
Why couldn't they write a script that made sense?
Why was fricking Optimus Prime given bad guy lines?

Michael Bay has the directing mentality of a horny 15yr old boy. It's all big explosions, violence, hawt chicks and crude jokes. It didn't achieve anything! I think he actually hates movies. That is he only explanation I can come up with that makes sense.
Megatron was such a badass in the first one, why is he such a wimp in the second?
Since when does Megatron work for ANYONE?!
In the movie Optimus fights with all the homocidal brutality of Jason Voorhees! He rips another transformer's face in half with meathooks! What... the... fuck?! It is fucking OPTIMUS PRIME!! He's supposed to be the best and most honourable of the autobots, and he's taking names like a slasher movie killer!

After discussing things with my wife, who also watched this with me, I have come to grudgingly admit that the movie Twilight was actually better than Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, simply because it was at least internally consistent within it's own setting. But don't start judging me, I'm not saying Twilight was good by any stretch of the imagination, rather look at it in this way; it is better in the same way as eating horse shit is better than eating dog shit because at least horse shit is full of fibre.

On the plus side, we watched the new Star Trek movie after T:RotF to cleanse ourselves, and it was awesome. I'm not a star trek fan myself, but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

I still weep for Transformers though. Damn you Michael Bay. You should be ashamed.

Art Trade

Wed Oct 28, 2009, 12:16 PM
Did an art trade with :iconthebrave: recently, and it was really fun. So I got to thinking about putting the idea out there for my own. Anyone want to do an art trade? I'm willing to offer three spaces for trading, since that's about all I can spare time for. Drop me a note about which one of your own creations you'd like me to have a whack at.
As for what you can do, I'd like poeple interested in doing the following:

1. Gemlins (any of the ones in this section [link]
2. Pasage of Dawn (things from my own RPG) [link]
3. My fantasy pin up girls [link]

So, the three spaces are available as of NOW! *EDIT* Only two spots remaining!

BTW, check out what :iconthebrave: did for my Gemlins! [link]

One More

Thu Oct 1, 2009, 6:57 AM
Just one more starter Gemlin to go, then they will all be up.
Doing the shading on the last earth type Gemlin was a pain, shading all those nooks and crannies. What possessed me to do an earth monster made of stone? I mean, the very idea!
But, just the air type doggy left to do. Have to outline the sketches and colour them on the computer. That, and get those rpg characters done. Two of the characters are drawn, I just need to shade them, and the lovely Aramina Shal and Rei Ornati will be ready for posting. Huzzah!
Just three more characters to follow in that rpg party. They are the characters from the Earthdawn campaign I was running years ago, before we all got lives and sacrificed our free time.
Here's the list of characters, so you can have an idea of what to expect:
Rei Ornati, female Human Scout
Aramina Shal, female Elf Elementalist
Kithe'Kiraan, male Elf Warrior
Khurak Swifthand Wyvernslayer, male Ork Archer
Rhunus Thorgor, male Troll Warrior.

Other groups I will be working on:

D&D
Tzarash, female Rakasta (cat person) Ranger
Gench Garfist, male Orc Barbarian
Bowyn El'Troch, male Human Ranger/Cleric
Andella Jeruhm Greenleaf, female Halfling Rogue
Merry Fiarni, female Gnome Fighter (Full Name: Merrigan Two-Dagger Vushel Sparklestone Hyas Tabernius Cliffjumper Fiarni)

Lord Of The Rings RPG
Lilly Brandybuck, female Hobbit Burglar
Dingolodh, male Human Magician
Morwyn, Daughter of Mordred, female Rohirrim Warrior
Morgwyn, Daughter of Mordred, female Rohirrim Warrior

They are all the ones I found the character sheets for, so they will be next. If I find more and think they are worthy of having a picture done, I will do so. But for now, this will do.

I'm going to bed.
